2008 puppies
On this page I have decided to include some quotes from the little terrors new families. This was to give an insight of the northern inuit puppy to the un-initiated. I think the key to any happy relationship is a sense of humour, and you certainly need one with these dogs. They definitely bring out the lighter side of life.

Cabales Valentino- Byron

Dear
Emma, Hope you are well. Just to update you on Byron's progress. He is fully
house-trained now and is very big. He loves his walks and is getting very good
on the lead. He runs with me most mornings, although I don't go too fast or too
far, just a jog round the woods and through the puddles. He loves it. Byron gets
lots of lovely meat so is not so keen on his dog food, although he eats it but
without much excitement. He also absolutely adores pig's ears from Tesco's. Boy,
do they stink!
He is extremely sociable, and loves children. We are trying to train him not to
jump on everybody in excitement. He sometimes plays rough, when he doesn't
realise just how big and heavy he is, and that stepping on someone's foot really
hurts. His claws are sharp and he uses his paws like hands sometimes. He is very
intelligent and loving, but strong-willed at the same time so we have to be firm
and consistent when we can.
I attach some photos of our wonderful boy just to show you how much he's grown.
And, as Tom probably told you, Byron and Cody see each other on a regular basis
and play together quite well.
Hello, Emma! Hope you had a good Easter break! We thought you might like to see
new photos of Byron and have the latest update. Jim and I took Byron to Norfolk
last week where we stayed in a really nice hotel and Byron was a very good dog
being absolutely fine in a new environment. He loved running on the beach but
didn't really want to go in the water although he loves his baths at home.
Sometimes he even jumps into an empty bath waiting for his bath or shower
(usually after a particularly muddy walk!).
We had to keep him on the lead most of the time which is hard work as he is so
strong now, but he gets very excited when he sees other dogs and simply doesn't
want to come back when he's called. He doesn't bark at other dogs and just wants
to play. Obviously lots of other dogs get anxious and apprehensive (and the
owners too!) but Byron doesn't seem to have any sense of danger or self-defence
in him - he backs off if the dog growls but still wants to play. I know that Tom
is planning to have Cody neutered in the next few weeks so we'll see how that
changes the dog's personality, but I wonder whether if we get Byron neutered he
would stop being so interested in other dogs?
Anyway, Byron is a lovely and clever dog and we are very glad he is part of our
family.
Cabales Montolio- Cody Cody lives very close to Byron with his NI friend Indy. Cody and Indy are being cared for by a foster family while their parents are working abroad so hopefully we will get some updated pics when they are back.
Cabales Ellifain -Avalon

Hello Emma, Avalon's doing great, her tummy has completely cleared up. Here are some recent photos of her at the park. She is so lovely I was wondering if you know when you will next be breeding as I would like to put my name down for a energetic friend for Avalon.

Cabales Tarathiel-Lucia lives with her family and nephew Hudson (see pic below of them waiting for their dad to come home). By all accounts she is a bit of a handful. Lucia also has and excellent BVA hip score of 10. Lucia has had her first litter of pups.

Cabales Robina- The lovely Elena- Ella is owned by Dave and Rachel of Lukoi northern inuts. Ella is a lovely dog with a playful nature. She has a fabulous hip score of 10. She is the first Cabales Northern inuit to be elbow scored and has a faultless score of 0!

Cabales Simply the best- Kobi (in front, I think :-) ) Kobi and Lyla are owned by a young couple who were keen to take on the twosome. We are hoping to get an update from them soon.

Cabales Devotion- Lyla

Cabales Time of my life-Kodah Kodah is a very brave boy and made the trip as a young pup to live in America with his new family. He is a happy boy and reminds me a lot of his mum.

Cabales Patience- Patience lives with her family on a busy farm. By all accounts she is a good rat catcher and is very entertaining.

Cabales Unconditional love-Kiff See quotes below
I hope you are okay, I have attached a couple of photos of Kiffy as she has grown up, we don’t have many as she continues to be constantly on the move, however we have plenty of pictures of her rear end as she disappears out of the picture!
KIffy is growing into a beautiful dog, she is so happy and good natured, and eager to please, but she has her mischievous side, and can certainly let you know if she wants something.
She continues to be completely undiscerning in what she eats, and will try just about anything in front of her, including the kitchen floor, fridge handles and the back door! The arms of our bench are also a little chewed, along with all the plants / bushes in the yard, and she has dug out every single plant pot that we had, I keep threatening to let her loose in my Dad’s garden next time he needs to dig the soil over, it would save him hours of time.
On walks she still wants to play with every other dog she meets, and made quite a funny picture playing with a little King Charles Spaniel at the weekend, she is a match for our Dobie when they are chasing round the field and can keep up with her when running about, she also has the weight advantage now when they are playing, however she is still usually the first to back down if they both want the same thing.
She still loves water and as soon as she is off lead she makes a dash for the nearest bit she can find, even if it is only a puddle. She was in her element when it snowed and spent as much time as possible outside playing in it and chasing snowflakes. We are hoping for a nice summer this year so that we can get her down to a beach as we think she would absolutely love the sea, on one of the walks we go on there is a small artificial beach next to reservoir and we have to drag her away from this area or she would play in it all day.
She is predominantly grey, with an undercoat of light brown and brown rings around her eyes, the backs of her ears are a pale brown with darker tips, and her main coat is brown with dark grey over the top, probably darker than it looks in the latest picture.
I don’t mind the chewing too much, I am just glad she hasn’t eaten the suite or the carpets, I have known people whose pups have done much worse damage, and it does seem to be a phase that she is getting over, she tends to “taste” or nibble now as opposed to trying to destroy, and often when she knows you are looking at her. We have just had the back door replaced, but that was due to the fact that the old one was wood and swelled so much we were struggling to get in and out when we had heavy rain, I would have liked to have left it a bit longer until we knew Kiffy had totally given up on chewing, but it was necessary, however in some respects she has done me a favour because we have decided to tile the kitchen floor when we replace it, so we are going to install under floor heating in the kitchen at the same time, a bonus as there is no heating in there at all and gets really cold in winter, David thinks I taught her how to destroy it!
At the moment she is lying here pretending that butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth, and looking so sweet that you would forgive her absolutely anything x
